The short version
The website works if you decline analytics. We remember the choice so we do not ask on every page. If you allow analytics, JOV creates one random identifier for this browser and another for the current tab. They apply only to Cornerstone’s site and cannot recognise you on another JOV client’s website.
If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we treat that as a refusal and do not show the analytics prompt.
Browser storage used here
cornerstone_cookie_choice
Local storage. Records “accepted” or “declined” so the site remembers your answer. It remains until you change the choice or clear this site’s browser data. This preference is essential to honour your decision.
jov:optout:cornerstone-insurance
Local storage. Written when you decline or withdraw permission so the JOV SDK cannot create identifiers or send analytics. It remains until you opt in again or clear site data.
jov:v:cornerstone-insurance
Local storage. A random, site-specific visitor identifier created only after you allow analytics. It remains until you withdraw permission or clear site data.
jov:visitor
Session storage. A random identifier used to group activity in one browser tab. It is created only after you allow analytics and disappears when the tab is closed.
The quote form is configured not to remember your name, email address or phone number in browser storage. Those details are sent to Cornerstone only when you submit the form.
What the analytics service records
After permission, JOV records page views, clicks, page-exit timing and scroll depth, broad device class, browser language, referrer host, campaign or share tags, and an approximate location derived at the network edge. The raw IP address is not stored. A keyed one-way hash may be kept for up to 90 days to prevent abuse; other visitor analytics are kept for up to 24 months.
See the privacy notice for the full explanation, recipients and your rights.
Change your choice
You can change your analytics choice at any time. Withdrawing permission stops further analytics and deletes the JOV visitor and tab identifiers stored in this browser. If you allow analytics again later, the browser starts as a new visitor.
